While visiting Petoskey, MI we checked out several “mom and pop shops” which is always a favorite tradition of mine since I’m a big supporter for #shoplocal.
It’s essential to eat local on vacation! And having such a sweet tooth made “Tom’s Mom’s Cookies” a very crucial spot to visit! It was a small but cute building with a variety of fresh baked cookies to choose from! Even visiting on a cold, rainy winter day, I still had about 6 people in line ahead of me. (They said during the summertime, it’s always a line out the door!)
The cookies were $1.80 for one or $18.00 for a dozen, needless to say, we opted for a dozen! We of course tried the original (chocolate chip) which had the largest chunks of chocolate I’ve ever seen in a cookie…yummm! My fiance’s favorite was the caramel pretzel cookie, mine was the mixed chocolate and white chocolate macademia nut! We also picked up peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, white chocolate, snickerdoodle, and a few others I can’t remember. Wow, they were all delicious, no kidding!
Even though you’re most likely to wait in a line if you visit, it’s worth it (there is a line for a reason!) Not to mention, they were even featured on The Today Show and Food Network! Sucha a special place and the staff were pretty great too!
Check out their page and give them a visit if you’re in Harbor Springs, MI!
