Versailles, KY Photoshoot

For my first official blog post, I wanted to share this fun photoshoot my fiancé, Kyle Johnson took of me in Versailles, KY. First of all, Kyle is an exceptional photographer also located in Lexington, KY and (no I am not biased just because we are engaged, let his photos speak for themselves.) He is a lover of nature photography, however I am so excited that he has dived into portrait photography too! P.S. If you are looking to hire a photographer for an upcoming event or for a family photoshoot, engagement session, graduation photos, etc…let me know. 🙂

So a few weekends ago, we decided to take a drive through the area until we stumbled upon the prime photography spot! I am a lover of all things antique, especially old buildings or murals so I felt this spot was a perfect combination of both. These were taken in an alley across from Pizza Hut on Main Street in Versailles, KY. Of course we weren’t prepared at the time for the mural to read “Coca-Cola” and at this time Kyle already had all of his camera equipment set up. (Not to mention he drives a stick shift, which I have no clue how to drive so I just walked a few blocks down to the nearest gas station to buy a coke-we felt this was very necessary at the time lol.) With many strange looks and a few awkward encounters of individuals asking for money we quickly snapped a few shots and were well on our way back to Lexington, KY.

Although the photo shoot didn’t go exactly as planned, we rolled with it and I am totally thrilled with the outcome! With fall finally here, I wanted to share a few of my fall favorites to get the season started.

First of all, MILITARY GREEN! One of my favorite fall trends and I’m glad its still as popular as ever. Honestly military green in my opinion is as much of a neutral as black or white. You can pair with cheetah, stripes, plaid, bold colors, the opportunities are truly endless.

In this case, I paired with my faded came print CAMO jacket. As much as I’ve denied camo over the years, it is also a very popular trend and I’m starting to become a fan. I’m wearing the Ronan Camo Jacket from Anthropolgie, and I have to say, I’m quite pleased. Anthro does camo so well, because its not in your face, its subtle and compliments your existing pieces so well.

Also sporting my constant go to…Madewell jeans! In these photos I am wearing the 10 inch Danny wash in regular length. These do have a slightly higher stretch level then some of the other Madewell styles which I’m a huge fan of, with that being said, I would recommend sizing one size down in this exact pair. I LOVE the 10 inch rise because I do have wider hips so these fit my hips well without having to worry about them constantly sliding down throughout the day. BIG PLUS!

Last but not least, every girls needs a pair of adorable fringe booties this fall, because…well…FRINGE EVERYTHING! This brand is Jelly Pop and I found a super similar style on Famous Footwear for only $49.99! Here is a link so you can find it. (Similar Bootie)

Hope you have enjoyed the look, I can’t wait to see how you’re styling your fall transition outfits! 🙂
